I was very happy when I got this Vacuum because it's made by Hoover, therefore, reliable and because it's slim (easy to carry around) and at a great price. I have a tiny apartment with wall-to-wall carpeting. I didn't know they weren't meant for such cleaning. After a year of use, the hoover now overheats after just a few minutes of cleaning the carpeted floor, even with a clean filter and nozzle. A huge disappointment. I wish there were clearer notes about the use with carpeted floors. So now I'm gonna have to pay to get a new vacuum!

This vacuum is lightweight and easy to use. It is great for quick jobs and touchups in between using the bigger, heavier vacuum. This is the second Flair that I have owned. You get your money's worth with this machine.

I wanted to like this vacuum. I got it, and vacuumed the living room (hardwood floors with area rugs) and thought it worked really well. The next day, I vacuumed 2 bedrooms (again, wood floors, one area rug) and just as I was getting to the third bedroom it shut off. I saw the sticker that said it could overheat itself and to let it cool for 30 minutes. 30 minutes later, it still wouldn't turn on. So I tried a few hours later, still nothing. The next morning again I tried and it was dead. I called Hoover and they told me I could take it to a repair shop, which I was going to do, but then I decided that I didn't want a product that broke on the second use.
Also, when I ordered it I wasn't aware of the overheating issue (since then I realized a lot of the other reviewers mentioned it, but I hadn't read all of them!). It seems to me that this is a design flaw-- if your vacuum overheats, give it bigger air vents to cool.
I returned it and bought the Bissell Versus, which I haven't received yet. I'm hoping for better quality than this thing.
On another note, this is the first time I've returned something to Amazon and it was really easy!

This is an amazing little stick vac. The suction is awesome, the nozzle rotates in every desired direction. It even stands upright on its own!

This little vac works great. It is reasonably quiet compared to most other small vacs, stands up on it's own, unlike a lot of other small vacs of this type, easily goes aroung and under furniture, cleans well along baseboards, switches easily from floors to area rugs and back again, dirt cup is easy to empty and clean, I really like it.
