I'm a lazy vacuumer. I have two little kids, so I should be doing it pretty much constantly, but I HATE it. Vacuums are heavy and noisy and get full. I LOVE this vacuum. It has fantastic suction, does a great job on Cheerios, pasta, crumbs, dust, pieces of waffle, you name it. It's got this great pivoting head that gets into all the nooks and crannies, it does a way better job on my hardwood than the big vacuum. The charge easily lasts enough to do both floor of the house and the stairs. I am happy to pull this out several times a week - something I would always consider doing, but rarely actually do, with the Boss.

So far, I love the design. I am amazed at how easily it goes onto and comes off the stand. Seems like a small thing to mention, but it is really nice to be able to set it down without fiddling much to find the right angle. It takes up far less space than the eureka 2-in-1 it is replacing. It has a cradle and attachments which is also better than my old vacuum. It is light enough to be comfortable, though it does have some heft to it such that I wouldn't call it feather weight. Feels solid and rolls like a dream.



I was able to vacuum around two litter boxes, two carpeted cat platforms, and a good area of hardwood floor without running out of battery. It had only charged for about 15 minutes.



The suction worked, but was not astounding. It picked up kitty litter and fuzzies but sometimes I had to go back over the kitty litter to get the last little bits. The swivel was nice and it seemed to have decent suction to the edge areas. I shook it and a few grains of litter did fall back out, but not until I shook it, which is better than my old vacuum.



So far I am happy. I will try to update when I know more.

This Electrolux vacuum has fabulous ergonomics -- it swivels to fit in corners, it's easy to empty, no fumbling needed to replace it on the charging stand. It seems really well made, and it does a fine job on pet hair. But as a prior reviewer commented, it doesn't have enough suction power to pick up small pieces, like dry cat food, unless you use just the hand-vac piece. Also, long human hair got wound around the rod instead of being sucked in, and I had to pull that off by hand. Maybe I was unrealistic to think it would remove dust and crumbs from the grout lines in my slate floor, but it failed miserably at that task. The charge lasts less than 10 minutes at full suction strength. I really wanted to love it, based on all the positive reviews and the design, but its performance for me has been mediocre. I'm back on the Amazon website looking for something different to buy. :-(

This is a great machine in most ways. It is easy to use, charge, store and it is very easy to empty out the canister. I love that it is really 2 products in one- both a small vacuum and a dust-buster. I would prefer if there were more power. I have two cats and it is not powerful enough to get the cat hair off of my carpet. It can pick up the cat hair off of hard surfaces just fine, but I still end up having to get down on my hands and knees and remove the cat hair manually.

I bought this vacuum as a replacement for a very old model that took bags. I have two big dogs that shed and I was tired of buying bags. When it arrived, I thought it had great features and was a nice design. The more I used it, the more cumbersome I thought it was. The large wheels do not roll well. I was thinking they needed lubrication but I could not find any place to lubricate them. Using this vacuum is like lugging a concrete block around. I should have sent it back, but I threw the box out! After 5 months, I was vacuuming carpet and the machine turned itself off. The power lights were still on and I was able to turn the brush back on but there was no suction. It appears that the motor that provides suction is dead. I looked for service centers and there is one in my area and it is a small mom and pop outfit. I was hoping to take it somewhere that would repair it in a couple of days. I was told it normally takes 2 to 3 weeks for a repair. What am I supposed to use till then? I vacuum every couple of days. I understand that things happen but it is just plain disappointing.

Had the vacuum just over a month. Just emptied the cannister today. We like it so far. Easy to move and pick-up (if necessary). Works well and has an excellent, stylish, futuristic look. Enjoying it so far!

We have bare-floors and carpeted rooms - works good on both (but I usually use the bare floor attatchment for the bare floor). On the carpet the motorized head makes cleaning easy.

This was purchased because of the positive reviews & Consumer Report's recommendation.



I was amazed at the performance of this product. I wanted to get a higher priced vac & was glad I did...at first. It sucked up animal hair & stray cat litter with great efficiency on both carpet & wood floors.



It was also the quietest vac I've ever heard...in fact, on the 8th attempt to use it, there was no noise AT ALL!



After vacuuming a 2 bedroom house 7 times, it wouldn't start. The power got to the machine but pushing the start button did nothing.



Since I live in a rural town between 2 major cities to the north & south, I'd have to drive at least 45 miles to get this repaired. So I contacted "Hoover's Exclusive Platinum Collection (TM) Member Services Line" ....impressive,eh?...I hope the folks working there get paid by their title, because all they do (& can do) is punch in your ZIP & tell u the location of the service center.



They told me that the nearest service was 32 miles away in Tehachapi, CA. I replied, "That is almost 100 miles & a 2 hour drive away" Their response? "Well, that's what it says on our computer" So much for "Hoover's Exclusive Platinum Collection (TM) Member Services"... it's just a call-center sweat shop.



There is no repair available in Bakersfield or Santa Clarita. It took a drive of 75 miles & 1hr 45min to Los Angeles to get service.



The repair center told me that Hoover is just a name & no longer a manufacturer. They also stated Hoovers are poorly made. The hose needs replacing on my vac. I asked how a hose can go bad after a couple of hours of use..."Poor quality" was their answer. It takes "weeks" for them to get authorization to do a warranty repair & to get parts.



It is now 18 days after I dropped it off, & the part isn't expected until next week.!!??$?% If anyone is interested, I'll update this review as time goes on....and on....and on.



UPDATE It's now day 27 since I left the vac for repair. No part has been sent to the Authorized repair facility. Another employee of the center stated that Hoover doesn't return their phone calls & that they are almost impossible to deal with.

I bought this vacuum because it had been rated well for hard floors and pet hair. What no one tells you is that for hard floors you have to take the motorized head off and put the very-common-no-moving-parts-head on. Well, geez, any vacuum can clean a hard floor once you do that but unfortunately, on this model, that head constantly falls off while in use. With the motorized head on, it will not pick up sand off a tile floor. With the no-moving parts head on, it still takes repeated passes over sand to pick it up. The no-moving parts head does work fine on pet hair on the tile floor, if it would stay on. This vacuum works fine on my rugs. The best thing about this vacuum was how easy it was to empty the canister and how easy it was to pull the canister around. The automatic cord winder is nice too. Otherwise this vacuum was inferior to my old Hoover upright in every way. I have returned the unit. Amazon was great about making that easy for me so I will do more research and order a different one from Amazon.

It all started when I agreed to look at a Rainbow for a friend, and I saw how much dirt my old vacuum was missing. So I started looking for a replacement. I have an 18 month old and just knew that his runny noses had something to do with all that dirt that came from my carpet. Wanted to invest some money but not over $2,000 for the rainbow. Looked at several Dyson's, and did not feel that they were well built, felt cheap and way too much plastic. So I looked at consumer reports and this was at the top of the list. I could not find one in a store so I bought this unit without seeing it or trying it out. I could not be happier with this vacuum. Picks up so much more dirt than my upright ever did, and is perfect if you have a lot of hard floors. My childs runny noses are now few and far between. I can also tell there is a lot less dust in my home between vacuums. The warranty is 6 years, which is a full year longer than Dyson as well. Great purchase!!!!!

Got this as one of Amazon's Deal of the Day at a really good price. It's really convenient and picks up great. The handheld is powerful and better than the 5 or so other handhelds I've owned in the past. The biggest plus is my wife loves it. She's happy, I'm happy. The battery life could be longer, it lasts about 15-20 mins, but it comes with 2 so always keep one charging and you'll be fine. Definitely recommend!

The Hoover Combo Pack was offered by Falls Vac through the Amazon Marketplace. Best price on the Internet. Shipping from Falls Vac was almost instantaneous, I had the box on my doorstep in Central Pennsylvania just over 24 hours after placing the order, despite the ominous "estimated" shipping info, which said it might take 3-4 weeks. Includes 2 batteries and one charger. The ability to swap out batteries is a great feature. Both vacs are very powerful but of course the battery will need to be recharged after 10-15 minutes of use, but for our purposes that's fine. I wanted the suction power, and these vacs deliver it. My only minor complaint is the clear plastic dirt cup on the hand vac is very tight and a little difficult to twist off, so I wouldn't recommend this for someone with arthritis. Some grip ridges would help. Other than that, but vacs are very easy to clean. Also, it would be nice if the hand vac had some way to mount it on a wall.

As a regular Amazon customer, I was left with too many unanswered questions about the content of this package to make an informed buying decision. So, I opted to purchase the Hoover cordless stick vac and an additional battery separately (from Amazon), and not this combo pack.



I was trying to figure out if it made sense to get the package deal if it represented a good savings over the price of simply buying two separate products. With the cost of extra batteries for this Hoover vac at about [...] bucks, it makes sense to pay attention to how many of the batteries come with a particular package deal.



The product photo for the combo pack shows the two vacs and a battery with charger. If you buy each of the vacs separately, you get a battery and charger with each. But the photo would suggest only one battery and charger to share between the two vacs that come with the combo pack. Or maybe the photo suggests that the battery pack and charger shown in the grouping is included in addition to the ones that normally would come with each of the vacs if they had been purchased separately.



The product description does not list specifically how many batteries come with the package, and a call to Amazon left me with little confidence that they knew either. They said two total. Why, I ask, does the photo feature one battery and charger? Well, they said, if I really needed to know more detail I should consult the manufacturer. What??? As the retailer, Amazon is responsible for knowing what is included in any product package they are offering for sale.



Anyway, my advice to the buyer is to read into this carefully. To Amazon, do a concise "what's in the box" summary for those of us who ask too many questions.

I did research and thought I made a good choice. But the vac is heavy and I am truly regretting this purchase. It was not cheap and I don't clean as often as I should, especially living in such a small place, and now after only 8 months the brush broke and it won't power on. I purchased this vacuum after reading (mostly) good reviews here. The build quality is decent as well as performance. The one touch height/surface control is a back saver. Warranty is excellent.

However, there is a flaw with the the way you're supposed to empty the dirt. The latch is pretty flimsy and it is very messy to empty the container. It seems that all lint, dust and hair sticks to the middle plastic part which needs to be taken out every time. If you think you can empty it simply by pushing a button (as shown in videos), forget about it.

if u want a beautifull vaccum that does the best cleaning job this is the one, take it from amazon its half what is retailed elsewhere and you wont regret it, it is bagless so you will have to put up with emptying it out by hand, however if a capable vaccum like this would have been bagged it would need one bag each time because it removes literaly everthing

If you are considering a Dyson this is a better vacuum. I wanted something with a lot of suction and this one does the trick.



I vacuumed my house the first day I got it and filled it up 3 times before I was finished. Did I mention I used my old vacuum first and still had soooo much dirt left to pick up.

I had an old Hoover canister/rug vacuum for 15 years and loved it until it quit. I bought this based on several recommendations. To start with, the hose does not swivel easily and I have to repeatedly untwist it. I do think that it is fine for cleaning both hard floor and carpet, it is just the little things like the on-off switch on the canister and not the wand that I don't like. Now, after just 3 months of use, there is a problem in the handle. When I am vacuuming the rugs, the brush stops until I push on the hose at the handle. I am now going to see how the warranty works!

I bought this vacuum in January and it seemed to work fine until June. It has been in a Hoover Service Center for 4 MONTHS waiting on an electronic piece that runs the vacuum head. The service center has been told that the part is on order from China, but that so many of these have failed, there's a back order. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! I am attempting to return it to Hoover and anticipate the run around because i've been on hold for a total of 18 minutes to try to speak to a CS representative. This is not an Amazon issue - it's a product quality issue.

I spent hours researching canister vacuums (my preference) before I purchased this. I bought it based on the reviews. Well, I will say that it does clean well - it's powerful - that's why I did give it 3 stars; but I absolutely hate this vacuum. It's like pulling a reluctant horse for a walk - it gets caught on every corner and it's so damn heavy I hate taking it out and dragging it around my apartment. It takes up a lot of room in the closet due to the large power brush. I have to say that even though I have this vacuum for about 2 years now, I still dread using it so much that I felt compelled to write this review now!

I purchased this vacuum cleaner in October of 2009 based on the (mostly) good reviews. I can only assume that the one I got is a lemon, because it has now broken down THREE times!! The power brush on the head stopped working first, so I got that fixed at my local Hoover service place. Then about a month after that, the motor in the main body unit had to be replaced, so I went and got that done. About 2 weeks ago, the power brush on the head stopped functioning AGAIN (and only about 3 months after the initial breakdown!), so I'm bringing it in one more time before the 1-year warranty runs out. I'm really shocked at how lousy this vacuum cleaner is! If you purchase one after reading this review, you have no one to blame but your self. CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED.

I purchased the Hoover canister vacuum model S3670 because I had been satisfied with 2 previous Hoover canister vacuums. However, Hoover has made at least 3 changes to worsen the product's ease of use and performance: 1) the hard floor tool now has wheels that make it more difficult to move sideways and, more importantly, that hold it up off the floor so that it does not pick up all the dirt, 2) the flexible hose is much stiffer - so much so that it is actually difficult to bend to use the vacuum and almost impossible to store in a reasonable amount of space, and 3) the on/off toggle switch is somehow more difficult to use. I don't know what better product there is on the market in this price range, but next time, I will certainly look for it.
